The OM Yoga Therapy Center offers private yoga therapy to students of all levels, teaching you a 15-minute daily routine - personally tailored to your needs and recorded on your smart phone for daily use to help you restore proper posture and function, preventing future degeneration and disease.
During your private session, Julianne Misra, BS, Registered Yoga Teacher, will review your health status and physical challenges and tailor two 15- minute personal yoga practices for you rotate and perform daily. Why only 15? Because everyone can take 15 minutes a day and that is really enough to bring about dramatic changes to your life.
This session including postures and breathing exercises will be designed to meet your personal goals. Whether you want to be stronger, more flexible, or relax and heal your nervous system, Julianne can help create a practice to reach your goals. This session is also a great primer for anyone wanting to join a group yoga class at a studio, gym or do yoga tapes in the privacy of their home. What is Yoga all About?
More than 36 million Americans are now practicing yoga. The practice is designed to lead you, the student, to an ever-increasing knowledge of himself and the needs of his body and mind in order to achieve and maintain good physical and mental health and spiritual harmony. Yoga is a discipline, not a religion. It is a "work-in" as much as a work-out. We are teaching you to make a greater connection between your mind and body, so you can listen and be more aware of what they both need. When you have peace in both the mind and body, you have health.
Each posture is designed to work a different system in the body, bringing balance to your glandular, eliminative, nerve, digestive, muscular, and circulatory systems. Yoga is for everybody. You do NOT need to be skinny, flexible or "in shape." It will help strengthen you, heal you, and bring peace and clarity to your life.

A Registered Yoga Alliance Instructor, Julianne trained at the Kripalu Yoga and Meditation Center in Lenox, Massachusetts. She has also studied with India's Paruchuri Seetharamaiah, trained at India's esteemed Bihar School and the Yoga Vidya Niketan, and taken workshops with Bikram and Rajaree Choudhury and a host of other yoga masters. Julianne also completed training on Spiritual Well Being through the Concept Therapy Institute in San Antonio, Texas. She has been practicing and teaching yoga for more than 20 years, now focusing on yoga therapy, teaching patients a daily home practice tailored toward helping them regain, and maintain their best health.
Julianne is a former Health and News writer for CNN. An Emmy Award winning News Producer, Julianne has produced health specials and documentaries on Breast Cancer, the Genome Project, Obesity and Teen Depression. She supports NOVA non-profit Real Food For Kids in its mission to bring more whole food, movement and mindfulness to schools in our community.
Michelle earned her RYT 500 at Beloved Yoga in Reston.. Additionally, she is certified in Yin Yoga, Restorative Yoga, Contemplative Yoga, and Trauma Informed Yoga. Since beginning her teaching journey in 2014, she has taught classes in Yin, Hatha, Vinyasa, Yin Yang, Beginners, Gentle, Restorative, and Yoga Nidra.
Michelle believes that by cultivating strength, release, and realignment, we can empower our bodies to become more supported and resilient. Creating a balance of stability and ease within the body can have a profound ripple effect throughout the layers of our being; enabling us to feel more calm and centered mentally, as well as physically. With kindness, curiosity and commitment, yoga can help everyone feel happier, safer, and more at peace, both in their own bodies and in the world. She feels it is a training ground for evolution at the level of the heart, mind and soul, bringing everyone closer to the best version of themselves.
